Water Utilities Technician

Description

• Complete accurate records, annotate plans, and submit reports using mobile data capture applications. Support the team with installation, commissioning, and maintenance of monitoring equipment as required.
• Collect samples on behalf of Scottish Water, adhering to all safety and quality standards.
• Moving heavy items including inspection chamber covers.
• Daily/weekly checks of equipment & Vehicles.
• Work as part of a 2–3 person team alongside an experienced Senior Technician. Survey wastewater assets, including manholes, CSOs, and pumping stations.

Requirements

• Working in all weather conditions.
• Ideally, some prior experience in a wastewater-related role.
• Strong utilities background and willingness to learn new skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous record-keeping. Demonstrable reliability, flexibility, and a strong team ethic.
• You may be required to work in confined spaces and on highways.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to complete paperwork accurately and annotate plans. Comfortable working in confined spaces.
• Familiarity with phone applications for data capture.
• Please note mandatory drugs and alcohol tests are undertaken for this role and a DBS check will be undertaken.
• Experience using drills and taking precise measurements.
• Full UK driving licence
