Strategically, the role helps shape and implement the global Personal Care strategy, leads the annual strategic planning process, and prepares Board of Director and investor presentations. The Director also identifies and recommends merger and acquisition targets for the division.
On the commercial side, the Director collaborates with regional Marketing and Sales teams to drive initiatives using market research, business intelligence, and competitive analysis. They support the development of customer roadmaps and monitor market trends.
Innovation responsibilities include partnering with regional Marketing and Technology teams across five focus areas: new project ideation, pipeline management, new product introduction performance, technical service projects, and management of customer briefs. The role is a key stakeholder in the innovation process, developing business cases and manufacturing strategies.
Ashland Specialty Ingredients is seeking a Director of Global Strategic Marketing for its $600 Million+ Personal Care business. This hybrid role includes weekly travel to Bridgewater, NJ and reports to the SVP and GM of Personal Care. It is a high‑visibility position within the commercial function.
The position does not involve people management; it is an individual‑contributor role with no direct reports. It is not an entry‑level job and requires a technical background rather than a pure marketing degree.
Qualified candidates must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (science, math, or engineering) and have 10+ years in a strategic or technical B2B role influencing commercial and innovation activities. Strong experience in the Specialty Materials industry, consumer‑product insight, analytical thinking, collaborative style, and executive presence are required.
