Engineering Excellence: Develop safe engineering solutions for medium to highly complex assignments, exercising independent judgment to resolve unusual design or field problems.
Safety & Budget: Meet cost, quality, and time objectives by managing work schedules, recommending contractor payments, and providing detailed progress reports.
Disturbance Analysis: Investigate and analyze major system disturbances and abnormal conditions to recommend corrective actions.
Operations Support: Conduct technical studies and data interpretation to support real-time grid operations, including the formulation of operating procedures and contingency plans.
Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate across business units including Integrated Planning, Grid Operations, Field Operations, and Asset Management.
Acceptance Services: Perform commissioning acceptance for P&C equipment in T&D substations (12kV–500kV).
Field Reviews: Conduct field reviews of installations and modifications, providing guidance to Communications, Protection and Control (CPC) technologists.
Maintenance Standards: Identify and develop modifications to P&C maintenance standards to improve system longevity and reliability.
System Monitoring: Lead P&C system integration testing and wide-area system monitoring initiatives.
Documentation: Review, accept, and seal commissioning documentation. Author and update P&C commissioning standards.
SME Advisory: Act as the P&C subject matter expert for project teams dealing with high-complexity system integration.

10 years of experience in a relevant engineering field or equivalent with a deep understanding of power system parameters (impedance, fault levels, symmetrical components) and protection philosophy (differential, distance, overcurrent).
Experience with substation equipment ranging from 12kV to 500kV. This includes understanding transformers, circuit breakers, and instrument transformers (CTs/VTs).
Demonstrated technical writing and presentation skills, and strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
This position requires significant travel to construction sites and field environments.
Contract Length: 1 year with High Chance of extension
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Focus areas usually include Power Systems or Control Systems.
Knowledge of P&C testing and commissioning best practices, experience working in a field environment, and experience in fault analysis and investigations is required.
Intermediate English skills for professional environment, written and spoken
P.Eng and will be required to Provide Proof of Permit to Practice, registered with EGBC when hired
