The Handyperson reports to the Property Manager or Building Superintendent and is responsible for maintaining building interiors and grounds, performing routine repairs, and ensuring a safe, clean environment. The role requires flexibility to work both inside and outside in all weather conditions and may include on‑call emergency duties.
- Monitor building and grounds to maintain a clean presentation.
- Perform minor painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, carpentry, and related maintenance using hand tools.
- Store supplies in appropriate areas.
- Conduct grounds maintenance such as mowing, shrub trimming, flower bed cultivation, and snow/ice removal.
- Remove trash and dispose of it in designated areas.
- Keep tools and equipment clean, orderly, and safe.
- Secure the building during and after jobs; report security violations.
- Report major repair needs to supervisor.
- Respond immediately to emergency maintenance problems or environmental hazards.
- Adhere to company policies, especially health and safety procedures.
- Provide emergency on‑call service as required.
- Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Perform medium to heavy physical tasks, including lifting up to 100 lb (frequent lifts up to 50 lb).
- Maintain good eye‑hand coordination.
- Interact with residents and handle complaints discreetly.
- Use hand tools for maintenance, landscaping, and construction.
- Operate power tools such as circular saw, drill, grinder, trimmers, floor cleaner, carpet shampooer, drain cleaner, chainsaw, etc.

- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Have 1–2 years of maintenance or construction supervision experience (ideal).
- Apply basic janitorial knowledge.
