Earthing system analysis and design including pipeline LFI studies
Manage the delivery of specialised components of projects, advising on the most effective team to achieve this.
Liaising with the Project Manager and the client to keep informed of all developments associated with the project
Provide technical expertise and overview to client and stakeholders and to assist clients through technical decision-making and provide alternative options/solutions if there are changes to project parameters.
Coordination of the traction power system with overhead wiring and signalling system design
AC and DC traction substation system design including preparation of single line diagrams, layouts, circuit diagrams, earthing and bonding schematics, and coordination of the design with communication, civil, structural and mechanical design disciplines
Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design
Preparing and delivering complex designs, reports, proposals and presentations to clients in the following areas:

The ability to develop EMC management plans and manage the EMC management procedure.
Experience in a design consultancy role
AC and DC traction protection systems analysis, setting, specification and design
The ability to develop traction power system models in ETAP or equivalent software tool.
Earthing, bonding and electrolysis assessment and design
AC and DC traction power system studies including equipment sizing, fault calculations and insulation coordination studies
Tertiary qualification in electrical/power engineering, preferably chartered engineering and RPEQ status;
The ability to develop earthing and induction models in CDEGS earthing system software is desirable
The experience of working with traction power system modelling software tools.
Demonstrated ability to lead the design teams and and deliver traction design packages
The ability to develop maintenance strategies and procedures, commissioning plans and documentation
Excellent spoken and written communication skills including a working knowledge of MS Office;
The ability to develop transient studies in ATP/PSCAD/EMTP
