The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for routine shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring that incoming and outgoing shipments are accurately identified with purchase orders, invoices, or other documentation.
Key duties include continuously supplying materials to production or assembly areas, kitting parts on the line, picking items from Kanban or storage locations, maintaining proper inventory levels, operating forklifts or hand trucks, inspecting parts for damage, logging inventory, and documenting material movement with tablet computers. The associate must follow departmental policies, safety and environmental standards, and may contribute to reports and database upkeep.
Candidates must successfully pass the Work Keys Assessment and have 1–2 years of experience in a material‑handling environment, including at least one year operating a stand‑up forklift. Basic computer skills, the ability to work independently, and the willingness to obtain forklift certification or read blueprints if required are also essential.
The role demands physical stamina: lifting up to 26 lb, reaching overhead, standing for long periods, and performing stooping, bending, pulling and pushing motions while using hand and foot controls. Safety shoes and glasses are mandatory, and work is performed on a manufacturing floor with normal noise levels.
Schneider Electric offers a robust benefits package that includes flexible work arrangements, paid family leave, a 401(k) match, and opportunities to contribute to sustainability initiatives. The company emphasizes an inclusive culture, ethical conduct, and equal employment opportunities.
