The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing HVAC and related equipment as assigned. It also includes day‑to‑day coordination of specific agreements or projects to ensure contractual commitments are met in a timely and cost‑effective manner.
As a lead service technician, you will provide expert technical support, train technicians and trainees, keep technical knowledge current, and follow systematic troubleshooting procedures. You will ensure safety checks, communicate clearly with customers, manage workload and priorities, complete accurate paperwork, and collaborate with sales and management on leads, system upgrades, and special projects. When a supervisor is present, you may also direct smaller work groups and report performance issues.

- Communicate arrival, departure, and return plans to customers with empathy and clear explanations.
- Provide customers with instructions for proper system use and emergency handling.
- Prioritize jobs, adhere to call schedules, and manage interruptions efficiently.
- Ensure required tools, materials, and vehicle maintenance are ready for each job.
- Complete all paperwork accurately and obtain customer signatures on service reports.
- Inform managers of adverse news, price concerns, or changes affecting projects.
- Translate technical information for non‑technical audiences.
- Generate qualified sales leads, alert sales to competitive efforts, and suggest system upgrades.
- Assist sales in pricing agreements and support special projects as assigned.
- Lead smaller work groups when supervising, and report performance issues to the supervisor.
