Reporting to the General Manager, the Project Development Director, is responsible for developing the Solar and Storage projects activity of CVE in North America.
- Support the CVE NA team in their critical missions (M&A offers, bids, projects listing into the State programs….)
- Validate all commercial offers and their associated business plan prior to making a binding offer
- Elaborate the commercial strategy and drive its implementation; structure and organize the development team around the successful deployment of profitable business models.
- Organize the portfolio reporting and participate to the Group reporting committees
- Pay regular visits to CVE’s main partners and clients; represent the Company in all private or industry events and seminars.
- Monitor performance, identify situations of concern and development path for correction/improvement
- Ensure that the projects developed follow the rules and the quality standards of CVE Group.
- Identify new opportunities or partnerships through your network of contacts.
- Monitor the achievement of results and control the outlays linked to the development activity
- Promote the creation of new markets or products, pushing for new opportunities
- Coordinate with the other CVE teams
- Day to day management of your direct report/s to ensure deliverables are on time and accurate and according to expectations the scope of work assigned; (e.g. Monthly KPI….)
- Work on the continuous improvement of the business development process to gain efficiency.
- Motivate and coach team members via regular one to one meeting, communicating goals, providing constructive feed-back on the work performed as well as opportunities for growth and development.
- Create and maintain clearly defined roles and responsibilities notably through a department functional matrix and partner with Human Resources to ensure the accuracy of the associated job description/s. Assess current and future skills needs, potential gaps and implement training plans as appropriate.
- Spearhead negotiations of complex projects up till their successful conclusion
- Keep abreast of the trends in the various States solar markets, notably of regulatory requirements and of competitors.

You have demonstrated the ability to be successful: you have high interpersonal skills, you know how to motivate, manage and coach a team that will deliver the expected results.
You have a comprehensive experience in developing renewable energy projects, you do understand the market dynamics in each States and what is at stake. Ideally, you have realized several acquisitions of projects or plants.

Must have over 10 years in renewable energy experience
You have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience with similar responsibilities in the renewable energies space.
Valid US Drivers License
Shrewd negotiator, you have the capacity to appraise, conclude and manage strategic partnerships and complex transactions. You enjoy taking initiatives, you have strong operational skills orientated towards achieving goals and a great sense of team spirit and accountability.
- Understand the various ways to sale electricity in the US, their advantages and disadvantages and incorporate them in the regional commercial plan.
