The Commercial Manager will own and lead the RFP & competitive bid and quotation processes, support in the negotiation of contracts with contractors & suppliers, conduct cost analysis, and making strategic product decisions for projects ranging in scope and complexity for assigned projects.

  • Actively identify opportunities to improve business processes and support the implementation of such.
  • Lead the Customer and sub-contractor contract negotiation phase for equipment, services, and contracts by collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks for the project.
  • Ensure the organisation's internal contract documents are accurate and well maintained.
  • Upon award, own the contract hand over to the project delivery team
  • Maintain and build up a good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders including colleagues, customers, suppliers, and senior management teams.
  • Communicate effectively with all other departments.
  • Analysing commercial and legal aspects of Customer RFPs to develop a competitive submission and continue to grow the opportunity pipeline.
  • Develop key requirements for RFPs to sub-contractors and evaluate for inclusion of the proposal.
  • Provide contract support to the Project’s team during contract delivery.
  • Responsible for bid analysis and modelling to support the strategic procurement process.
  • Work with supply chain to capture competitive intelligence and generate insights on supply chain and BESS landscape.
  • Own and lead the RFP response and competitive bid processes for projects,
  • Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in contract documentation and proposal submissions.
  • Interacts with external parties including customers, vendors, and suppliers.

  • Strong Commercial Acumen: Ability to analyse RFPs, contracts, and bids from both commercial and legal perspectives.
  • Analytical Thinking: Skilled in bid analysis, financial modelling, and evaluating supplier proposals.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience in partnering with internal and external stakeholders to optimize a response and the decision-making process.
  • Excellent Communication: Able to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external parties (vendors, suppliers, customers).
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work intensively during negotiation periods.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficient at aggregating and understanding and responding to requirements and information as part of the RFP process.
  • Ability to take critical decisions in the face of limited or conflicting data and under time pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence with executive level presentations.
  • Procurement Strategy Knowledge: Understanding of strategic sourcing, supply chain dynamics, and market intelligence.
  • Commercial contract negotiation and RFPs management experience for equipment supply in the energy sector.
  • A legal right to work in the UK.
  • Fluent in English in speaking and writing.
  • Enthusiasm for working with Customers and suppliers.
  • Process Improvement Mindset: Identifies and implements improvements in business processes
  • Be able to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team.
  • Contract Negotiation Expertise: Proven experience in negotiating complex contracts with customers and subcontractors.
