
* Establishment and monitoring of the project budget in the cost management software.
* Monitoring, analysing, and reporting change control with focus on key drivers of deviations and early trends.
* Development, management, and monitoring of the contract payment cycle and process map.
* Prepare, collate, and deliver project reporting deliverables.
* Assist the development of the project controls plan, project specific procedures and processes.
The Senior Cost Controller will be responsible for budget management, expenditure control, and forecasting to support our teams in delivering projects within approved cost, schedule, quality, and performance criteria. The role will also involve reporting financial performance across assigned scopes.
Based in our Osborne Park office, the Senior Cost Controller will be focused on driving Primero’s cost control activities.
* Collecting, analysing and reporting actual and earned hours and the associated trends and movements.
* Translation of the estimate to an approved project control budget based on the project execution philosophy.
* In conjunction with the Planners, align the schedule and cost via WBS, resources and activities.
* Monitoring and analysing of commitments and actuals to ensure correct coding against the task number budgets to support accurate performance, commitment and estimate to complete.
* Preparation of project forecasts, along with detailed analyses, trending, mitigations and commentary.
* Assist in the identification of risks and opportunities and suggest ways of mitigating the risks.
* Meet all role specific HSE responsibilities, accountabilities and KPIs as per the Primero HSE Management procedures and plans.
* Experience in the Construction and Engineering, particularly in the Resources and Mining industries.
* Experienced operator of a cost management tool essential.
* Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerBI.
* AACE / ACES qualification preferred, but not essential.
* University degree preferred (Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Accounting or similar discipline), but not essential.
* Understanding of agreed scopes, pricing schedule, commercial framework, and reporting obligations against the head contract.
* Greater than 7 years’ experience in cost engineering or cost control is essential, with +2 years in a senior role.
* Excellent knowledge of Construction methodology to assist with forecasting
* Continuous communication and dissemination of change impacts maintained through the MOC register.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong statistical and analytical reporting skills.
