The OSP Planning Assistant will plan, execute, and oversee multiple telecommunications projects, focusing on Fiber‑to‑the‑Home (FTTH) initiatives. This role combines strong project‑management and analytical abilities, using spreadsheets to organize raw data, set project priorities, allocate resources, and track performance metrics. The ideal candidate blends telecommunications expertise with data‑driven decision‑making to manage complex, cross‑functional deployments.
- Plan, manage, and deliver multiple FTTH telecom projects, coordinating engineering, construction, operations, vendors, and partners.
- Control scope, schedule, budget, quality, and regulatory compliance while identifying risks, dependencies, and issues.
- Utilize Excel/Google Sheets to collect, clean, and analyze large engineering and usage datasets, creating scoring models to prioritize projects.
- Develop and maintain project trackers, dashboards, and reports, translating technical data into clear summaries for leadership.
- Standardize tracking tools, templates, and workflows; support continuous‑improvement initiatives.
- Serve as primary contact for project updates, facilitate review meetings, and present data‑driven recommendations.

This position is remote, requiring work during Mountain Standard Time (MST) hours. The engineer must communicate clearly, present technical insights to both technical and non‑technical audiences, and thrive in an independent yet collaborative environment.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, telecommunications, business, information systems, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrate proven project‑manager experience in telecommunications, engineering, or infrastructure environments.
- Possess working knowledge of telecom principles, network infrastructure, and FTTH design, construction, and activation processes.
- Show advanced spreadsheet proficiency, including formulas, pivot tables, data sorting, and analysis.
- Prefer experience managing FTTH or broadband programs and understanding of OSP/ISP concepts.
- Preferred certifications: PMP, PgMP, CAPM, or similar project‑management credentials.
- Familiarity with project tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Asana, and with Fireworks/Bidmaster systems.
- Key competencies: data‑driven decision‑making, cross‑functional coordination, clear communication, strong organization and problem‑solving.
