You will lead and mentor a team of mine geologists and samplers while maintaining strong collaboration with mining, planning, survey and technical services.
Reporting to the Geology Manager, you will provide technical leadership across mine geology, grade control, resource definition and reconciliation, ensuring geological data and models are delivered to a high professional standard and actively support production outcomes.
- Leadership in safety performance, compliance and continuous improvement
- Capture and management of geotechnical data
- Leading underground mine geology activities with a strong focus on grade control and recovery optimisation
- Development, review and improvement of underground geological procedures
- Review and analysis of diamond drilling, mining and production data for grade estimation
- Preparation of technical reports relating to resource definition, production and exploration
- Reconciliation of schedule models against reserves
- Design, implementation and management of diamond drilling programs

This position is ideally suited to a technically strong underground gold geologist who enjoys leading teams, owning geological outcomes, and working closely with mine planning and operations to maximise recovery and value.
An opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Mine Geologist to play a key leadership role within a well-established underground hard-rock gold operation in regional Victoria.
You are a technically capable and commercially aware underground geologist who enjoys leading people and delivering high-quality geological outputs in a production-driven environment.
Residential candidates are strongly preferred, with full relocation assistance provided to regional Victoria region. FIFO on a 4/3 roster will be considered for the right candidate.
Senior Mine Geologist - Underground Gold (Hard-Rock) RELOCATION or FIFO PROVIDED
- 7+ years' mining experience, including 5+ years in underground hard-rock gold
- Proven experience in grade control, geological modelling and resource estimation
- Resource estimation, production reconciliation and model validation
- 3D geological modelling and interpretation using Surpac
- Tertiary qualification in Geology
- Solid working knowledge of Surpac
- FIFO (4/3) considered for the right individual
- Strong operational support and a collaborative technical environment
- Strong understanding of the full mining cycle from exploration through to production and reconciliation
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, develop and lead mine geology teams
- AusIMM or AIG membership (desirable)
- Ownership of underground geological mapping, sampling and QA/QC
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
