The Technician supports the operation and maintenance of one or more wind farms, ensuring safety and maximizing availability. Responsibilities include safe execution of scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, conducting acceptance and performance tests, and providing technical guidance to the O&M team. The role also involves maintaining accountability for tools, equipment, and vehicles and recording all service activities in the digital maintenance management system.
RWE Clean Energy, LLC is hiring a full‑time, permanent Wind Farm Technician II in the Operations & Maintenance functional area. The position is non‑exempt and the start date is immediate.
Candidates must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least four years of experience in operations or maintenance of power generation, transmission, or distribution, or a relevant technical associate’s or bachelor’s degree. Required certifications include a current Journeyman or Master Electrician license or a Wind Tech Certificate, and an unrestricted driver’s license. Preferred experience includes wind turbine work (Vestas, GE, Acciona, Nordex) and military technical background.
Physical requirements include the ability to maintain a personal weight limit of 270 lb, climb wind towers daily, work in confined and swaying spaces at height, and lift or move equipment up to 50 lb. The role also demands adherence to safety procedures such as LOTO and the ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic drawings.
