Description

Diagnose problems and perform mechanical repairs and maintenance to ready mix plant machinery, including but not limited to batch plants, motors, conveyors, electrical equipment, etc.
Coordinate ordering with purchasing team parts from approved vendors
Using miscellaneous tools, such as sledgehammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, cutting torch, weelder, and pneumatic hammer/drill
Comply with all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures and requirements
Inspect, service and report the condition of machinery needing repair; maintain a service log
Communicate with plant crew, quality control technicians, maintenance team, and management team to ensure successful daily operations
Must always wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas
Utilize a variety of hand tools to repair, adjust, and dismantle equipment being repaired and/or installed
Operate fixed and mobile equipment as necessary; use loaders to move and lift parts into place
Rebuild or fabricate parts and repair electrical equipment
Read and interpret technical manuals

Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Will be required to work overtime and weekends as business needs determine
Must be able to work in a heavy industrial environment; exposure to weather elements, dust, noise, etc.
Strong communication, written, and oral skills
Welding and cutting experience is necessary
Familiarity with OSHA regulations
Physical requirements: standing, walking, kneeling, climbing, crouching, stooping, bending, feeling, balancing, sitting, and frequent lifting of up to 75 lbs.
Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment including safety glasses, respiratory protection, safety belts, gloves, etc.
3 years’ + experience as a mechanic in the ready-mix/concrete industry is preferred
Work independently and lead a team
Basic computer skills will be required
