Tasks

-Audits work under construction for current construction standards, rules, and regulations. -Completes scheduling, budgeting, and forecasting. -Track and monitor financial performance of projects/programs against forecasts. -Makes engineering studies and analysis. -Supervises inspectors, other field engineers, field engineering technicians, senior field engineering technicians and other similar field personnel. -Coordinates engineering work between operating Divisions and General Construction. -May be required to perform duties as an assistant supervisor when size of a project requires. -Inspects and monitors the work of contractors to assure compliance with specifications and plans. -Lay out construction plans. -Recommends and approves changes in construction drawings or specifications. -Support construction supervisor and inspector by providing technical and engineering expertise in the construction of the project. -Solve simple and complex engineering construction problems. -May direct the activities of certain employees or crews on job assignments requiring engineering expertise. -May create contract work authorization (CWA) in SRM. -Develop project timelines and milestones; perform scheduling and forecasting.

What You Bring

-Ability to work flexible schedules, extended hours, nights, weekends, and/or overtime (scheduled or ad hoc) -Supplemental education is defined as completing a minimum of 30 quarter or 20 semester units of coursework from an accredited college emphasizing science and engineering such as those listed with a mix of no less than three areas (transcripts required for verification): Physics, Principles of Electricity, Chemistry, Statics, Surveying, Dynamics, Math (including trigonometry and basic calculus); an EIT certificate satisfies supplemental education -Able to wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). -Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certificate -Experience with Construction Surveying -Must possess a valid California Driver's License or the ability to obtain one by first day of employment -Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook -Experience in electric clearance submittals to Distribution Operations (Application-For-Work, AFW) -Advanced in Microsoft Excel and/or database skills -Experience with SAP -Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management OR 2 years of experience and supplemental education* or EIT -Experience in contracting, Contract Work Authorization (CWA) and Contract Change Order creation -Experience in construction -AutoCAD or hand draft skills, preferably both
