The attorney will guide risk management, draft and negotiate a wide range of contracts and legal documents, and advise teams on alternative delivery mechanisms like design‑build, P3, and EPC projects. Responsibilities also include resolving pre‑litigation disputes, supervising litigation, managing external counsel and budgets, handling subpoenas, preparing public disclosures, researching legal developments, and providing compliance guidance across multiple offices.
The Design and Consulting Services‑Americas legal department is seeking a skilled attorney for its West Region. This hybrid role can be based in major AECOM offices such as Austin, Dallas, or Denver and focuses on construction law matters related to engineering, construction, and technical services contracts.
Minimum qualifications require a JD and at least five years (Counsel) or seven years (Sr. Counsel) of relevant experience, bar membership in any U.S. state, and demonstrated construction law expertise. Preferred qualifications include prior experience in an engineering or architecture firm, strong communication and teamwork skills, the ability to work independently, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
