VHB is seeking a skilled and forward‑thinking Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Traffic Engineer to join its Transportation Systems Group in the Southeast region, with hybrid opportunities in Orlando or Tampa, FL. In this role you will contribute to planning, documentation, design, and construction support of advanced ITS infrastructure and traffic design. VHB offers a hybrid work model that lets employees thrive both in the office and remotely.
- 8+ years of ITS design or system development experience, including traffic signal, communication, and network architecture.
- Proficient with Excel data analysis and design platforms (OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, AutoCAD).
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high‑quality work on time.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Systems, or Electrical Engineering (Transportation focus preferred); Master’s may substitute 2 years experience.
- 8‑11+ years ITS engineering experience; Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
- Familiarity with state DOT processes and standards preferred.
