The Role

Overview

Estimate civil infrastructure projects, including take‑offs, pricing, risk analysis.

Tasks

-Develop and maintain productive relationships with owners, peers, and industry representatives. -Conduct risk analysis for review by the assigned project sponsor. -Review proposal specifications and attend pre-bid meetings. -Complete quantity take-offs for labor, equipment, and materials. -Contribute to establishing a critical path schedule, including milestones. -Provide conceptual input on complex projects. -Analyze contract documents to determine project requirements. -Advise on cost, schedule fluctuations, and material improvements. -Track awarded contracts and review competitors. -Review labor and equipment rates. -Document all estimate information for project teams upon award and ensure all documents and data support estimate figures. -Contribute to pricing for general expenses and project-specific requirements.

What You Bring

-Understanding of contract terms and identifying risks and opportunities. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills. -Knowledge of bid preparation, quantity take-off, trade contractor procurement, pricing, and bid closing. -Experience estimating civil discipline. -Prior supervision experience is a plus. -Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English. -Experience with Heavy Bid estimating software. -Strong organizational skills and self-motivation. -Minimum 5 years of construction cost estimating and field experience. -Bachelor’s degree or equivalent trade experience.
