Alongside the Sector Leader, Design Principal and talented delivery team, lead the technical design and delivery of a wide variety of Civic and Community building types by providing hands-on management, guidance, direction and creativity on design-forward projects.
Preparing information for negotiating project contract amendments.
Helping develop qualifications and proposals for Civic pursuits.
Lead responses and coordination with other disciplines for addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders
Provide construction administration on projects in CA Phases with oversight by the Principal in Charge.
Independently coordinate the work of a multidiscipline team through all phases of projects.

Organize and participate in construction documentation i.e. leading building envelope design, interior details, coordination with different disciplines.
Serve duties of Project Manager when required
Performing QA/QC and implement project milestone QA/QC reviews, technical reviews across projects
Leading coordination efforts with outside and internal engineering consultants.
Coordinating with design and digital delivery team (BIM Managers) in determining the best solutions for use of materials, interaction of design elements, and integrity of building envelope enclosure.
Collaborate with project design teams to facilitate project execution through highly skilled detailing.
Providing mentorship and guidance to staff in support of career development.
Maintain a culture of client-focused project delivery through high technical competency.
Incorporate agreed-upon changes into project documents.
Participating in project interviews.
Actively participate as a member of our in-office studio, mentor junior intern architects, technologist within the team.
Coordinate workload of team members with the Principal in Charge through multiple phases to complete documents on schedule.

Must have experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications

Rick Hansen Certification
Extensive knowledge and experience within the local and regional market
Must have experience on both small and large-scale projects
Experience with Mass Timber construction
A passion for sustainable design and experience in successful delivery
Registered Architect
Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills
Excellent written and communication skills
Working knowledge of Revit
Experience in alternative project delivery [ie. DB, IPD, Alliance], both as Owner’s Representative and Builder’s consultant.
Strong relationships with clients, demonstrated on resume.
Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
Be well-versed in implementation and application of BC Building codes and Vancouver Building Bylaw, and Zoning Policies, standards and guidelines
Must be able to lead a team on projects
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule)
Master's degree in Architecture
Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
A minimum of 5 years project management and/or as a Project Architect
Experience and/or interest in sustainable design / LEED / WELL
Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
Strong team leadership, mentoring, motivational/organizational and people skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
