Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Officer is imperative to the organisation and contributes to driving the accurate, efficient and effective delivery of payroll services for one of South Australia's largest employers, ensuring integrity and compliance with business procedures, standards, policies and legislation.
The Payroll Officer is required to be the 'first point of contact' across all payroll issues, providing advice and support to employees on payroll matters and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of the payroll payments for the organisation. The Payroll Officer plays a vital role in processing a high volume monthly and fortnightly pay run.
- Support improvement projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that drive payroll efficiency and effectiveness
- Update employee master data and payroll records
- Identify potential payroll system enhancements and improved processes
- Calculate and process all relevant payroll requirements
- Ensure that payroll issues are dealt with in a timely and professional manner within a shared service environment
- Support the Lead Payroll Officer with a number of payroll requirements, including: payroll reporting requirements, problem solving and system auditing and enhancements, internal and external payroll audits

SA Power Networks are seeking to appoint an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Performance, Reward & Payroll Team on a 12 month fixed term contract.
- Payroll/Accounting qualifications and /or experience gained in similar position
- Understanding and implementation of payroll processes in accordance with Enterprise Agreements and payroll legislation
- Demonstrated agility and adaptability to support shifting priorities and needs
- Knowledge of accounting for payroll
- Strong customer service experience and communication skills, with a track record of developing strong business relationships at all levels
- Demonstrated experience working efficiently at pace while maintaining attention to detail and quality of output
- Knowledge of operating HR /payroll systems
- Knowledge of payroll legislative compliance, including tax, superannuationand LSL
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, demonstrating initiative to develop innovative solutions
- Experience in Payroll in a large complex organisation
