- Be a key contributor in building and growing Montrose’s client base within the environmental regulatory market
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to intermediate and junior team members
- Act as the TA while supporting environmental permitting and compliance requirements for projects
- Collaborate with technical practice teams to provide pragmatic solutions to clients
- Play a substantial role in project delivery, predominately in project oversight in a Technical Advisor (TA) capacity
- Provide technical expertise and leadership on environmental regulatory applications adhering with federal, provincial, and municipal regulations and guidelines
- Participate in maintaining Montrose’s strong safety culture
- Contribute to business development activities including bolstering client accounts with previous experience and client contacts, contributing to client account management, as well as leading proposals including scoping and budgeting
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistency and quality in project execution
- Bring your business development skills to search out and identify opportunities to expand the scope and breadth of services we provide our existing clients as well as contribute to the development of new clients
- Partner with extensive, long-standing clients such as municipal governments, conservation authorities, academia, and private industry.
- Deliver expert advice and senior-level review to projects including environmental planning and assessments, regulatory applications and stakeholder engagement for a variety of market sectors. This includes oil and gas, midstream, mining, power generation and transmission, petrochemicals, and infrastructure

- Experience with midstream and pipeline development applications and associated regulations in British Columbia and with the Canadian Energy Regulator (CER).
- Strong business development skills
- Proven success in project proposal preparation and presentations
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills in a collaborative environment
- Existing client relationships in one or more market sectors (e.g., oil and gas, midstream, mining, power, infrastructure)
- Experience with provincial and federal regulations and permitting requirements
- Experience with mining regulations, permitting and development applications for a variety of industries (oil sands, rock and brine hosted minerals, and coal)
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering, environmental science, geography, resource management, or related environmental discipline
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams as a TA or technical reviewer
- Demonstrated and repeated success in environmental planning and assessments, regulatory applications, project management, and client engagement
- Minimum of 12 years of environmental consulting experience in environmental regulatory planning and permitting projects in Western Canada in oil and gas, midstream, mining, power generation/transmission, petrochemicals, and infrastructure projects
- Have autonomy and the opportunity to interact and work with a community of technical experts from other Montrose departments and jurisdictions
