Chief Operating Officer

This role exists to ensure the successful delivery of construction projects—safely, on time, and within budget—while maximizing commercial performance and minimizing risk. It is accountable for driving project execution from pre-construction through to maintenance, with a strong focus on profitability, compliance, and quality.

• Overseeing best in practice H&S standards
• Obtaining detailed handover from CGO & CTO teams
• Deliver projects safely, on time and within budget,
• Ensuring all necessary pre-construction design, planning and works are completed before commencing on site
• Ensure strong monthly, quarterly and annual reporting across the projects with a focus on budget and working capital.
• Lead project handover at completion
• Implement best in class document management and construction management processes and procedures
• Oversee/co-ordinate quality review of construction works
• Co-ordinate grid connection and commission with CTO (engineering team)
• Responsible for planning and undertaking all onsite maintenance
• Lead with full responsibility for variations, claims and EOT and documentation of same
• Monitoring milestones and cash flow performance by project.
• Responsible for programme scheduling and reporting

• Excellent knowledge of health & safety regulations and quality standards.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong commercial awareness to maximize contract profitability while protecting against potential client LD’s and claims
• Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of delivering complex projects safely and on time.
• Proficiency in document management systems and reporting tools.
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
• Proven commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, claims, and contractual obligations.
• Strong understanding of construction programmes, scheduling, and grid connection processes.
• 10+ years’ experience in a similar project delivery role within the construction or renewable energy sector.
• Experience of FIDIC contracts and appropriate risk allocation
