Reporting directly to the CFO, the Accounting Manager supports company‑wide accounting oversight through strategic reporting, data analysis, and process improvement. The role oversees day‑to‑day accounting tasks such as managing the general ledger, preparing financial reports, and assisting with month‑end and year‑end close, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and FAR guidelines. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, collaborative, and thrives in a fast‑paced environment using data to drive decision‑making.
- Oversee general ledger, financial reporting, and compliance
- Manage accounting for Joint Ventures
- Develop and update internal accounting policies and procedures
- Assist CFO with strategic financial planning
- Train and mentor accounting staff
- Support month‑end and year‑end close processes
- Design and implement new processes to improve project accounting efficiency
- Create and track KPIs for the accounting department
- Develop custom reports and tools to aid leadership decision‑making
- Collaborate with operations and finance teams to deliver training programs on project financial management
- Serve as a key resource for special projects and strategic initiatives
- Provide direct support to CFO on ad‑hoc requests, special analyses, and time‑sensitive initiatives

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business and a minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including a strong interest in CFO‑level responsibilities and experience with construction cost accounting.
Success in this role depends on effective oral and written communication, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to translate complex accounting concepts into clear, actionable insights for non‑financial stakeholders. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, and experience with Sage, Smartsheet, or an equivalent ERP system is preferred.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens able to obtain a security clearance, hold a valid driver’s license and insurance, and pass a thorough background check and drug‑and‑alcohol testing.
