  • provide support to our coastal flood modelling advisors working on a range of activities around the whole of the English coastline. These include reviewing and creating models for our flood risk management schemes and reviewing modelling provided as part of land use planning submissions.
  • allow you to further develop your technical skills and knowledge to allow you to review coastal flood risk modelling outputs, as well as build your own models.
  • allow you to further develop your personal skills such as prioritising your workload, showing initiative, communicating effectively, building relationships, and identifying opportunities for more effective working and delivery.
  • work closely with a wide range of coastal practitioners and colleagues across our organisation and with our external partners, building an expertise in coastal flood risk modelling and coastal data to ensure we are ready to respond and adapt to coastal flooding.
  • develop, and provide advice on, the coastal datasets that provide the evidence base underlying many of our flood risk management activities.

  • knowledge of coastal and estuarine processes, with some experience in modelling of these processes.
  • the ability to work in a methodical and well organised way, prioritising and managing your workload effectively, and delivering high quality work to defined deadlines.
