As the Projects Coordinator, you play a key role in supporting Project Managers across a range of projects—from kickoff to completion—by applying solid engineering and project management practices, strong leadership, and interpersonal skills. This includes sourcing internal and external resources, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of project plans, coordinating with stakeholders, reviewing deliverables, estimating costs, managing budgets, overseeing safety, and scheduling design and construction activities. Projects typically span up to 12 months, and at times, you may independently lead smaller-scale drainage projects or programs.

  • Maintaining schedules, cash flow forecasts, and accruals
  • Providing input on drainage plans, understanding EUI strategies, and maintaining effective cross-team relationships.
  • Developing and implementing short-term deliverables aligned with project management plans.
  • Monitoring and reporting performance metrics and assisting with timely adjustments.
  • Performing procurement tasks including preparing RFPs, tenders, evaluating bids, and recommending awards.
  • Providing recommendations for acquiring consultants and contractors that meet project needs and deliver maximum value.
  • Recommending invoices for payment from consultants and contractors within approved and executed contracts, per CESAP authorities.
  • Supporting budget planning for engineering design and construction of drainage projects.
  • Assisting with project delivery to meet scope, schedule, and budget targets.
  • Communicating project updates and preparing reports for stakeholders.
  • Conducting site visits and safety audits to ensure safety integration; immediately stopping any work deemed unsafe.
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, standards, and regulations while mitigating risks
  • Managing change by preparing documentation and supporting control processes.
  • Preparing project documentation including plans, agendas, minutes, procurement materials, logs, approvals, and close-out reports.
  • Coordinating internal and external teams and stakeholder meetings.
  • Executing project activities, administering contracts, reviewing invoices, coordinating inputs, and tracking deliverables.
  • Managing small or low-complexity projects independently when required.
  • Applying technical knowledge to analyze and propose solutions for project issues and manage risks.

  • Ability to conduct cost estimating and cost-benefit analysis, lead groups of people (internal and external), and prepare accurate monthly reports showing all aspects of the project.
  • Completion of a two-year Diploma in Engineering Technology, Business Administration (or a related field) from a recognized post-secondary educational institute.Engineering Technology Diploma (Civil Engineering) is preferred.Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation with ASET is an asset.
  • If you are considered for the position, clearance on all applicable background checks (which may include criminal, identity, educational, and/or credit) and professional reference checks is required. Some EPCOR positions require an enhanced level of background assessment, which is dictated by law. These positions require advanced criminal record checks that must also be conducted from time to time after commencement of employment.
  • Ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing priorities to deliver excellent value to a number of stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of project management processes, procedures and permitting requirements
  • 4+ years of project management experience in design and construction of drainage, municipal or civil infrastructure.
  • To meet the physical demands required of some positions, candidates must be in good physical condition and willing to work in all weather conditions. Clearance on pre-placement medical and drug and alcohol testing may be required.
  • Ability to analyze technical information and make timely, well-rationalized decisions.
  • Knowledge and experience in project management, negotiation and delivery process at all project phases from initiation to close-out.
  • Prior infractions for unsafe driving behaviours will be evaluated and considered for non-selection regardless of current demerits on file.
  • Technical knowledge of drainage engineering design and construction.
  • Engineering Technology Diploma (Civil Engineering) is preferred.
  • Ability to learn and use software and technology as required, to effectively deliver projects and complete necessary reporting.
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation with ASET is an asset.
  • You must complete training as required for this position.
  • A requirement of working for EPCOR is that you are at least 18 years of age, successfully attained a high school diploma (GED, or equivalent level of secondary education) and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)

Wage: Starting at $47.18 per hour

  • Successful applicants must provide their own vehicles with appropriate insurance in accordance with EPCOR’s Employee Mileage Reimbursement Policy. You will be reimbursed in accordance with EPCOR’s Employee Mileage Reimbursement Policy.
