Providing engineering, procurement, and construction services to the energy and industrial sectors.
This senior-level Electrical Engineer role offers the chance to work in a project team environment alongside engineers and designers on the design, modification, and analysis of new and existing oil and gas facility electrical systems, as well as supporting power plant and industrial facility designs.
The position involves challenging assignments such as investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of electrical engineering issues, while assisting the project lead to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
You will coordinate system design activities to guarantee that installation and operations comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements, and you will prepare and review detailed calculations—including three‑phase power transient studies, voltage drop, and protective relay settings—and produce design input documentation for drawing production.
The role requires interfacing with vendors to develop material and equipment purchase specifications, preparing clear technical reports and studies that meet client and S&L formats, performing independent reviews of others’ calculations and drawings, and providing mentorship to less‑experienced engineers.
Qualifications include a BSEE degree from an ABET‑accredited program (MSEE preferred), at least seven years of experience in power or industrial plant design focused on oil and gas, expertise in equipment selection, control philosophy, medium and low voltage distribution systems, and the ability to serve as a firm/client liaison and review peer designs; a PE license is preferred.
The position follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring three days per week in the office.
Sargent & Lundy offers award‑winning benefits such as comprehensive health plans, life and disability insurance, retirement savings options, flexible work arrangements, paid time off, tuition assistance, licensure bonuses, and various employee discount and charitable programs.
