The Maintenance Technician performs preventive and reactive maintenance duties required for plant manufacturing operations. Priorities include executing preventive‑maintenance schedules, repairing equipment to maintain maximum production rates, and managing a spare‑parts inventory. The role requires flexibility to work 40+ hours per week, weekends as needed, and on‑call duties for repairs and assistance.
Technicians troubleshoot and repair machines and controls such as extruders, corrugators, drives, chillers, and downstream equipment. They act as the first responder to machine problems, coordinate with Electrical Engineering when necessary, and work with production staff to ensure safe, reliable equipment operation. Supporting continuous‑improvement projects and daily management initiatives is also expected.
The position requires general experience with electrical test equipment, reading electrical, pneumatic and mechanical drawings, and knowledge of NEC, UL508A, and NFPA 79 codes. Candidates should possess strong time‑management and prioritization skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and root‑cause analysis.
Educational requirements include a High School or vocational diploma; technician‑level training in electrical, hydraulics, or pneumatic systems and basic PLC/drive training are preferred. Preferred experience is at least two years of industrial maintenance, electrical systems and controls, and plastic‑process knowledge.
Physical demands include repeatedly lifting 50 lb to a height of 6 ft, standing and being mobile for a minimum of eight continuous hours, and working in extreme temperatures. The role requires full range of motion, including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting, and climbing onto industrial equipment.
