CAD Technician I

Description

• Perform basic CAD and ArcMap assignments for distribution projects and permit applications.
• Maintain CAD/GIS production standards and conduct QA/QC reviews for construction plans and specifications.
• Enter as‑built, survey, legal, and address data to keep the GIS database up‑to‑date.
• Create and run GIS queries to support infrastructure analysis, statistical reporting, and map creation.
• Interpret construction designs and spatial data for existing and proposed gas distribution facilities.
• Assist customers and employees with facility information inquiries.
• Design special graphic presentation maps for internal and external use.
• Train less experienced staff on CAD/GIS procedures and standards.
• Support additional CAD/GIS department projects as assigned.
• Use drafting tools and office equipment to produce pipe, mechanical, and architectural drawings.
• Prepare and interpret drawings, maps, plats, legal descriptions, material lists, and blueprints.

Requirements

We are seeking a CAD Technician I to work in Little Rock or Fort Smith, Arkansas. The role supports engineering and operations projects by producing CAD and GIS designs, maintaining records, and ensuring data accuracy for gas distribution infrastructure.

Applicants must hold a Vo‑Tech, CAD/GIS/Drafting certificate or have completed at least 60 credit hours in a related field from an accredited institution.

• Collaborate effectively across departments and with all management levels.
• Demonstrate proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
• Exhibit high attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication, and the ability to multitask.
