The Pre-Construction Manager leads estimating and planning support personnel, monitors project budgeting and buy‑out processes, and ensures reliable information is available for estimates. This role also facilitates communication of cost history to improve cost modeling and reports to the Director of Pre‑Construction Services.
Key responsibilities include soliciting subcontractors, creating and distributing design‑phase deliverable reports, developing GMP proposals, and establishing and maintaining relationships with architects, owners, engineers, designers, and clients to support business development.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field, or a degree in another discipline combined with four years of pre‑construction experience. Preferred applicants have a degree specifically in construction management or civil engineering. The position requires a minimum of two years of pre‑construction experience, with a preference for four or more years in construction management. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities, along with an understanding of industry practices and trends, are essential.
