The Licensed Surveyor role, positioned within the Operations department, reports to the Senior Surveyor and/or Operations Manager and offers flexible remote work options. The purpose of the role is to plan, perform, and oversee surveying work to deliver accurate, high‑quality deliverables. This includes coordinating projects, communicating with clients, and preparing survey documents and maps in line with professional standards and state licensure requirements.
Key responsibilities encompass project coordination by defining scope, objectives, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements with clients, and ensuring team tasks are completed accurately and on time. The Surveyor serves as the primary technical contact, providing regular updates on project progress, and conducts or oversees boundary, topographic, construction, and other surveys while maintaining data accuracy and compliance. Additional duties include preparing reports, maps, plats, reviewing deliverables for completeness, implementing quality control procedures, maintaining comprehensive project documentation, supporting invoicing processes, and managing risk and compliance to uphold safety and professional standards.
Qualified candidates typically hold a bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field and possess licensure in Missouri or Tennessee. Required experience includes conducting boundary, topographic, and construction surveys, with strong knowledge of surveying principles, standards, and applicable laws. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble, and related software, excellent communication and organizational skills, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel are also essential.
