QA/QC Solar Technician
Cypress Creek Renewables
Develops, finances, and operates solar energy projects across the U.S.
Conduct QA/QC inspections and maintenance on utility solar PV systems nationwide.
Perform drone (sUAS) and handheld infrared thermography inspections.
Assist in planning and executing daily activities.
Collaborate effectively with project teams to optimize site performance.
Identify and address punch list items.
Conduct on-site inspections and evaluations of solar photovoltaic facilities.
Identify and mitigate safety hazards.
Analyze construction methods and ensure adherence to quality standards.
Maintain accurate records of inspections for permanent files.
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of solar PV systems.
Conduct DC and AC testing, including polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, insulation resistance testing, and I-V curve tracing.
Maintain tools, instruments, and inventory stock.
Inspect work across civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes.
Generate detailed inspection reports and maintain thorough documentation.

Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line and three-line diagrams.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Certification.
Ability to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, and walk for 8-12 hours per day.
Availability to work Monday- Friday and occasionally on weekends.
Technological aptitude and adaptability.
Compliance with all safety standards and PPE requirements (hard hat, arc flash protection, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.).
Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal oversight.
Familiarity with SCADA, DAS, and UPS systems.
Proficiency in Procore construction software and Microsoft Office Suite.
2+ years of QA/QC experience
Primarily field-based with extensive travel (90%+ required).
Willingness to travel overnight and for extended durations.
OSHA 10-Hour Training Certification.
Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and standard construction practices.
Valid Driver’s License.
Experience with testing equipment, such as thermographic electrical inspection, IV curve tracing, megohmmeters, and ground fault detection tools.
Capability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Inverter manufacturer certifications (preferred).
Strong understanding of PV construction, including electrical, civil, and structural components.
Willingness to travel extensively (90%+ of the time).
1+ years of experience in solar PV construction or maintenance, including DC operations, AC medium voltage systems, monitoring, civil, and racking installation.
