Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy/highway construction projects; performs manual work in preparing surfaces for paving.
Excavates and fills trenches and ditches.
May operate various types of heavy equipment with direct supervision.
Maintains a clean job site - picking up all tools and equipment and securing job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.
Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems to the attention of the foreman, safety director or HR manager.
Performs materials handling and storage.
Shovels bituminous concrete (asphalt) into construction areas.
Assists in patching asphalt with hot and cold mix.
May be required to drive a company vehicle.

Must have experience as a general laborer in the construction industry.
Ability to work in all weather.
Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
PPE must comply with site specific requirements.
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test. Pursuant to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to Redstone Construction Group standards & processes.
Occasional lifting may be required up to 75 lbs.
Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time with frequent bending and stooping.
Working hours var due to job necessity, at least 45 hours per week.
Safety training required; PPE required outside of office/parking lot area.
Workers must be punctual and reliable.
