Commercial Roofing Field Superintendent

Description

• Review and approve monthly expense reports
• Review and approve weekly timekeeping for crews by reconciling time to Geo Tab reports
• Ensure all crew members are trained to meet safety and quality standards by providing detailed training as needed- from Toolbox talks to skills training.
• Utilizing training offerings provided by manufacturers
• Develop and conduct career development training programs for crew members and Field Managers
• Develop and perform ongoing crew assessments in order to strengthen performance of the Field Managers and crew level staff
• Review daily crew progress and daily labor as compared to budget and adjust as needed
• Manage the tools and material needs of each crew
• Ensure all FM checklists are complete and daily progress reports submitted to CRM
• Act as liaison between Field Manager and PM and quickly resolve and remove roadblocks for crews
• Ensure crews are staffed to meet production needs by interviewing and selecting candidates to fill open positions.
• Review job scope, travel budget and hours of each job with the Field Manager prior to job start
• Complete accident reports and investigate incidents as needed
• Provide feedback during project handoff on estimated hours

Requirements

• 10+ years of commercial roofing experience
• 50-60% travel by car or plane.
• OSHA 30 certified or the ability to acquire the certification within two months of hire
• Work is primarily performed in outdoor weather conditions. Must be able to work in varied extreme weather conditions (extreme hot and extreme cold).
• Proficiency with Microsoft office products
• 5+ years experience as superintendent leading in-house or subcontractor crews
• Experience in Coatings, Single Ply, Hot, Metal roofing systems a plus
• Repetitive bending and stooping with occasional lifting up to 40 pounds is required. Operating heavy equipment and lifting heavy materials occasionally.
• High school diploma or Equivalency
• Repetitive finger/hand/forearm motion necessary for completing data entry. Ability to manipulate keyboards, telephone keypads, and other office equipment.
• Ability to travel extensively
• Talking and listening required for answering telephones and conversing personally with customers and staff. Manual dexterity required for accessing filing cabinets.
• Knowledge of local area codes and regulations preferred
• Spanish bilingual skills preferred
• Certa trained a plus
