Assistant Bridge Inspector

Description

• Office responsibilities will include report writing, review and data entry
• Develop inspection reports and review
• Assist the Team Leader in perform bridge inspection, both topside and underwater, of culverts to large complex bridges and ancillary structures (signs, light poles, traffic signals)

Requirements

• A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Dive training and certification are preferred but not required
• Ability to travel out of state, overnight stays may be required
• Understanding of national bridge inspection methods, evaluations, and report preparation is preferred
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines.
• 70% Local In-State Travel required, overnight stays may be required
• Boat operation skills are preferred.
• Ability to climb ladders, and work at heights
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
