The Electrical Apprentice at Silent‑Aire Limited Partnership is primarily responsible for installing and terminating conduit, cable, equipment, panels, sensors, and various control components and devices. This role also constructs and fabricates control panels and systems, installs interlocking wiring, and performs wiring checkout.
Key duties include installing system components in compliance with NEC, NESC, NFPA, and UFC standards; troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical control circuits for motors and devices; providing material take‑offs and proposing plan modifications to improve efficiency; testing equipment for proper performance; and maintaining detailed maintenance reports and documentation. The apprentice must monitor parts usage, assist in preventive maintenance scheduling, and adhere to Silent‑Aire safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
Candidates must be registered as an Apprentice Electrician in Alberta and enrolled in a recognized trade school. They should be able to work under the supervision of Journeyperson electricians, both independently and as part of a team, and possess strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Flexibility, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to safety—especially when handling live electricity—are essential.
The working environment is commercial/industrial, requiring the ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lb, use hand tools with manual dexterity, and stand for long periods. Employees must exercise caution due to natural hazards, wear protective equipment, and be prepared for overtime as needed.
