The employee will act as a liaison between Waste Management drivers and various internal teams, handling problem resolution, service orders, and customer interactions across residential, commercial, and roll‑off lines. They will use Waste Management’s proprietary software to route tickets for same‑day service and prepare next‑day routes, with shift variations that may include overtime, Saturdays, and up to 15% travel to site dispatchers.
Core duties include dispatching drivers based on real‑time information, optimizing routes with site and service departments, determining staffing levels, assigning routes and tickets, and managing inbound calls and emails for pick‑up or delivery requests. The role also involves communicating with customers during driver visits, troubleshooting issues before they impact service, and ensuring same‑day resolution of missed pick‑ups by monitoring driver movements.
The role is a remote position for candidates residing in the South Atlantic Market Area (GA, SC, NC). It requires a flexible schedule within operation hours of 2 am‑6:30 pm Monday‑Friday and occasional Saturdays. Candidates with dispatch, routing, or logistics experience and strong computer and communication skills are preferred; proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) is a plus.
Required qualifications are a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of relevant experience in a team environment, with strong multitasking and organizational skills. Preferred qualifications include advanced computer abilities, professional communication via multiple channels, and a willingness to learn Waste Management’s software applications.
The position is based in a home‑office setting and requires fine motor coordination for keyboard and device use. The hourly pay ranges from $19 to $21, and the benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, 401(k) match, stock purchase plan, and paid time off.
