The Operations Technician II supports pipeline operations and maintains facility equipment safely and efficiently. Core duties include reading and interpreting technical drawings, inspecting and supervising equipment, and ensuring compliance with operational and governmental standards. The role also involves data analysis and collaboration to troubleshoot technical and operational problems, with a strong emphasis on accurate record‑keeping and safety.
The position requires a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of relevant experience, including a minimum of one year as a technician in the oil‑and‑gas sector. An associate degree or two‑year technical certification is preferred, along with additional experience in mechanical, technical, or control‑systems work.
Technicians must be comfortable working in extreme temperatures, loud environments, confined spaces, and at elevated heights using appropriate PPE. Physical tasks include lifting up to 50 lb individually, team‑lifting heavier loads, and extensive standing, walking, climbing, bending, and squatting. Availability for after‑hours, on‑call, night, weekend, holiday shifts, overtime, and occasional travel with overnight stays is required.
A valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record is mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate aptitude for technology, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and prioritize safety. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PC operations, process‑control systems, and basic programmable logic controller (PLC) knowledge is expected.
