As a Regional Operations Leader based in Alice Springs, you’ll play a key role in the safe and efficient delivery of Aurizon’s rail services. Leading a frontline team, you’ll be responsible for managing daily yard and traincrew operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable and cost-effective train services to our customers.

  • Implementing improvement initiatives to reduce asset cycle times and enhance train payloads
  • Leading incident investigations and driving safety outcomes
  • Building and maintaining positive working relationships with your team, including setting and monitoring performance and behavioural standards
  • Ensuring effective crew levels to support scheduling and rostering
  • Managing allocated yard and traincrew operations to meet service demands
  • Monitoring and reviewing locomotive download data to ensure optimal driving practice

You’re a confident and safety-focused leader who thrives in fast-paced operational environments and is motivated to deliver high-quality results through people.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams, assigning tasks, and solving problems in operational settings
  • A sound understanding (or the ability to acquire knowledge) of train handling, provisioning procedures, network route knowledge, safe working systems and crew deployment
  • The ability to engage, coach and motivate team members while setting clear direction
  • Strong safety leadership skills and knowledge, including experience with incident investigations (ICAM preferred)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and commercial awareness
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Frontline Management (preferred)
