Diesel Mechanic

Description

The Mechanic will complete all repairs, preventative maintenance, programmed repairs and facility repairs to be in compliance with equipment/facility reliability and standards. Maintenance mechanic will report any foreseeable problems to the Shop Manager.

• Keep up with training and process requirements
• Effective communication and maintain clean, orderly work area
• Diagnose and manage employee projects
• Schedule equipment repairs and maintenance
• Work afternoon shift; overtime as needed

Requirements

• General mechanical knowledge (pumps, hydraulics, electrical)
• Basic welding knowledge and experience
• Good assembly skills
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs and systems
• Basic computer skills
• Work order execution experience
• Own basic hand tools
• Safety training experience
• Facility repair experience
• Problem solving and root cause diagnosis
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Trade education in industrial mechanics (preferred)
• Minimum 3 years industrial mechanical repair experience
• Heavy truck repair experience
• Ability to work in closed and open environments
• Class C driver’s license
• Boiler/steam truck maintenance experience (preferred)
• Vac truck maintenance experience (preferred)
