The Senior Manager, Benefits leads the strategy, design, governance, and oversight of employee benefit programs for North America, covering both the United States and Canada. This role ensures that benefit offerings are compliant, cost‑effective, well‑governed, and aligned with the needs of a multi‑site building technologies organization.
Key responsibilities include partnering with HR business partners, payroll, legal, and business leaders to maintain workforce continuity, managing vendor relationships and contracts, overseeing budgets and cost‑containment initiatives, and directing communications to employees and managers. The position also serves as the senior escalation point for complex or non‑standard benefit issues and drives continuous improvement in compliance and employee experience.
- Level II – Consistently achieves all objectives and provides mentoring and day‑to‑day supervision to Level I staff.
- Own the North America benefits, including health & welfare, and retirement.
- Ensure alignment between practices and workforce policies.
- Lead vendor strategy, RFPs, contract negotiations, and ongoing performance management for benefits.
- Establish and monitor service‑level agreements, case quality metrics, compliance controls, and employee experience outcomes.
- Manage benefits‑related budgets, forecasting, and cost‑containment initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable US and Canadian regulations, including state and local laws, ERISA, ACA, and provincial employment standards.
- Partner with HRBPs, Payroll, Legal, and business leaders to support workforce continuity.
- Serve as the senior escalation point for sensitive or non‑standard benefits.
- Oversee employee and manager communications related to benefits.
- Drive continuous improvement in vendor effectiveness, compliance posture, and employee experience.
- Maintain a satisfactory driving record per Climatec’s vehicle policy.

Candidates must have extensive benefits experience across the U.S. and Canada, strong compliance and vendor‑management skills, and proven stakeholder leadership. A bachelor’s degree is required, with professional certifications such as CEBS or CBP preferred, and the organization is committed to equal employment opportunity and reasonable accommodations for all applicants.

- 8+ years of progressive experience in benefits with US and Canadian scope.
- Strong compliance, vendor management, and stakeholder leadership experience.
- Bachelor’s degree required; CEBS, CBP, or similar certification preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in benefits with US and Canadian scope (preferred).
- Be physically able to kneel, stoop and crawl.
- Be able to lift and carry drawings, personal computers, material, and spend significant time sitting.
- Be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Be able to spend significant time standing and walking.
- Be able to climb flights of stairs throughout a typical day.
