  • Ensure that facilities meet health, safety, regulatory and legal requirements. This work may involve working with internal recourses and external organization. External organizations may include (but not limited to) government agencies, property insurance carriers, general contractors, service providers and/or architects.
  • Responsible for facilities related project management and execution which may include design, scope writing, budget generation, contractor comparison, contractor management and project execution for various facility renovation and upgrade projects. Projects may range in size, up to potential expenditures of several million dollars.
  • May manage contracted services (such as landscaping or similar services).
  • Work Standards: Setting high standards of performance for self and others; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed.
  • Assist in development, management, and execution in capital expenditure budgets.
  • Lead, manage and participate in capital expenditure infrastructure projects to support facility and GHG goals from inception to completion, which may include end user collaboration, design, government permitting and contractor management. Capital expenditure projects may include HVAC equipment, office/cube renovations, room remodels, facility expansions, facility maintenance (roofs/building exterior), general site improvements (landscaping) and general building space upgrades.
  • Research, evaluate, and implement facilities technologies that place Badger Meter in a position of technological leadership with the consideration of objectives in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Environment, and Employee.
  • Work with other disciplines such as manufacturing engineering on facilities and plant related items such as cell layouts and continuous improvement projects. Develop and maintain sustainable processes and procedures as it relates to plant layout and infrastructure drawing management.
  • Support facilities operations by troubleshooting varied infrastructure (HVAC, air, water, building construction, etc.), systems (CMMS, BAS, etc) and equipment in manufacturing and office operations. Recommend changes to aforementioned infrastructure, systems, and equipment.
  • Develop comprehensive and sustainable preventative maintenance plans for new and existing infrastructure and equipment. Leverage asset management system and other tools in support of appropriately maintaining infrastructure and equipment.
  • Provide engineering support, training, technical expertise and problem solving to all site departments on facilities items.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Facilities engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field required
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office Suite required
  • Ability to apply project management skills to all facets of work to ensure projects meet cost and timing objectives.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
  • Up to 10% travel required (1-2 trips a year)
  • Communication: Convey information and ideas clearly and concisely to individuals or groups in an engaging manner that helps them understand and retain the message; listen actively to others.
  • Depending on the assigned department, must complete an audiogram test
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing/office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role desired
  • Basic understanding of facility design and construction required.
  • Basic familiarity with codes and regulations (NFPA, NEC, OSHA) required
