Our creative, award-winning team, specializing in high-end residential design, is seeking a paid Intern. Recent graduates of interior design or architecture programs are invited to apply. In this role, we are seeking individuals who value punctuality, eagerness to learn, proactivity, and have hands-on experience in the interior design profession. This is an opportunity to learn and grow in a professional setting.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This is primarily a sedentary role; however, the ability to move throughout the office and visit client offices or job sites is a requirement.
AE+A is an evolving, fast-paced organization that relies on team members to bring expertise within their field and contribute to the sterling reputation the company has earned over the past 20+ years. This requires engagement, independent workload management, and voicing concerns as they arise.
SPONSORSHIP: AE+A cannot provide sponsorship for interns. All applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, hold valid visas, or be currently eligible to work in the U.S.
AT-WILL EMPLOYMENT: Your employment and compensation with Annette English + Associates are “at will” in that they can be terminated with or without cause, and with or without notice, at any time, at the option of either Annette English + Associates or yourself, except as otherwise provided by law.
WORK HOURS: Your work hours will be Monday through Wednesday, from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm, 24 hours per week, and will be considered part-time. There is a mandatory 30-minute unpaid lunch break, which you must take before the fifth hour of work begins (it must start before 2:30 pm). You are entitled to take two paid 10-minute breaks each 8-hour day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. If you work on a pre-approved Friday, you are entitled to one paid 10-minute break. No overtime will be permitted without approval.
When filling a light workload or helping to meet an upcoming deadline, the staff member may be asked to take on work considered parallel or lower than their current pay grade. When fulfilling staff members’ professional growth goals or tasks, it may be considered above their pay grade to help them acquire additional skills. This is considered training and will be well supported by superiors.
