What you would be doing

  • Utilize survey equipment (total station, tape measure, GPS, scanner, drone) to determine locations and elevations for various features.
  • Set stakes for boundaries, easements, construction, and other surveys.
  • Cut and clear brush, when necessary, utilizing a machete, brush hook or chain saw.
  • Keep survey truck supplied with equipment and supplies. Clean and organize vehicle and maintain equipment.

  • Must be willing and physically able to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in variable climate and environmental conditions including extreme temperatures, precipitation, and wet/muddy conditions.
  • Ability to regularly carry survey instruments and equipment in remote, rural, or urban surroundings (up to 25 pounds)
  • Ability to occasionally lift/ move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Employment with Merrick is contingent upon completion of a pre-employment background check, MVR check, and drug screen.
  • Experience: Previous survey experience not required, we will train you!
  • Experience: up to two (2) years of survey experience.
  • Physically mobile in and around construction sites and other field locations.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and be insurable under Merrick’s insurance carrier.
  • Travel: Work will be located locally and regionally. Candidate may be required to travel Monday thru Thursday each week up to one (1) week at a time and occasionally up to three (3) weeks at a time.
  • Proficient with basic survey field equipment.
