As Discipline Director for Geotechnics you will lead a dispersed team of professionals, ensuring the growth of capability and capacity to meet business demand while delivering high‑quality project outcomes. You will monitor team performance, track deliverables and guarantee projects finish on budget, schedule and quality targets.
Key accountabilities include providing senior‑level professional leadership, developing Arcadis’ geotechnical capability, and driving a culture of delivery excellence. You will work with talent acquisition and learning functions to anticipate business needs, and champion the inclusion of GEC expertise in business‑area delivery models through standardized operating procedures.
You will manage workforce planning, day‑to‑day workload, and collaborate with service‑delivery managers on standardisation and automation initiatives. Emphasis is placed on career development, health‑and‑safety leadership, and staff engagement, using tools such as YourVoice to identify and act on drivers of motivation. Operational metrics such as billability, software usage and overtime will be overseen, and you will shape team composition to ensure the right seniority levels are in place.
Candidates must hold an MTech/MEng or equivalent in Geotechnical Engineering, have at least 15 years of experience and 8 years of leadership on significant design projects, and possess international chartered status. Experience on design‑and‑build projects and a record of leading engineering solution implementation are advantageous.
