The job involves constructing, fabricating, installing, and dismantling form work and fixtures made of metal, wood, and other materials. Work is performed on cooling tower structures, concrete forms, scaffolding, and various building components.
- Build cooling tower structures using required tools and materials.
- Examine blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine material needs and dimensions.
- Select, load, and haul job material to the work site.
- Prepare layout of form or fixture using lines or grades.
- Measure and mark boards, timbers, or plywood, then cut to size with saws, chisels, and planes.
- Verify accuracy of structures with transit, plumb bob, square, and level.
- Use carpentry hand tools such as hammers, levels, squares, screwdrivers, adjustable wrenches, hand and power saws, drill motors, and pry bars.
- Nail cleats (braces) across boards to construct concrete‑supporting forms.
- Brace forms with timbers, tie rods, and anchor bolts for concrete piers, footings, and walls.
- Erect framework for structures and install sub‑flooring.
- Cut and assemble timbers to build trestles and cofferdams.
- Erect scaffolding, install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
- Construct forms, chutes, and align form panels for pouring concrete and grout.
- Fit and install prefabricated window frames, doors, weather‑stripping, interior and exterior trim, and hardware.
- Fit and nail sheathing on outer walls and roofs; set and brace anchor bolts.
- Perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities with tools and equipment.
- Operate electric and pneumatic tools.
- Rig materials when required.
- Observe and comply with all safety and project rules; perform other duties as required.
- Work within precise standards of accuracy.
- Rate information using measurable standards.
- Compare and discern differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.
- Interpret flat drawings or diagrams and visualize them as solid objects.
- Follow oral and written directions.

The Helper position is an entry‑level role requiring 0–2 years of documented field experience in a craft discipline. The employee must be capable of reading and interpreting instructions, planning work, and performing tasks independently.
Candidates should have at least a high‑school diploma or equivalent and prior experience in the field. Basic mathematical skills, the ability to work from drawings, and compliance with oral and written directions are required. Supervision is immediate and independent judgment is limited.
The role demands frequent physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting and carrying up to 40 lb, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and handling tools. Safety rules and project guidelines must be followed at all times.
