Machine Operator (Coil Winder) 2nd

Description

This position is responsible for winding coils or hot‑working transformer assemblies used in electrical equipment and instruments, following wiring diagrams, samples, or work orders, and using coil‑winding, welding, and brazing equipment.

• Review wiring diagrams, work orders, or samples to determine wire type, size, length, and coil specifications.
• Build standard dry‑type coils and hot‑work transformer sub‑assemblies to meet production demands.
• Inspect product quality, coil dimensions, and bus‑bar locations for compliance with standards.
• Maintain at least 80 % productivity time standards.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and presentable.
• Adhere to company safety, attendance, punctuality policies, and U.S. export control regulations.

Requirements

The role is based near Richmond, VA; candidates must reside within a 50‑mile radius unless they are active‑duty military, and no relocation assistance is offered.

New hires will undergo training and must pass tests for crane operation, welding, brazing, and diagram interpretation within the first 90 days, while meeting physical demands such as lifting 50 lb and standing for extended periods.

• Possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Have a minimum of one year manufacturing experience; three years preferred.
• Provide at least six months soldering/brazing/welding experience or a welding certificate.
• Obtain forklift operator certification (training available on‑site).
• Ability to lift 50 lb and perform repetitive lifting, bending, squatting, and standing.
