This individual will provide strategic HS&E support to the project and region while learning and assisting with daily safety needs related to the success of the overall corporate HS&E program. This role is focused on shadowing the local HS&E leadership and the project management teams to assist in administering project training programs and conducting job site safety and environmental compliance reviews. The HS&E Intern will learn how to implement a research driven safety program while spending significant time in the field with the teams performing daily work.
Applicants must be self‑driven, have the desire to learn, and an excitement to interact and communicate with project field personnel. The HS&E Intern must show an eagerness for working in the construction safety environment and enjoy interacting outside in all types of weather. Must be open to travel and have an aspiration for the hands‑on experiences that will contribute daily to the continued advancement of Orion’s exemplary safety culture.
The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation. The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel‑toed shoes, and personal flotation devices as required by the work performed and location.
This position makes $22/hr.
