Description

The role ensures technical excellence, optimal resource utilization, and effective client engagement while collaborating closely with the Department Manager on tenders and business development initiatives to support growth and strategic positioning.

Key duties include planning, scheduling, and tracking workload and budgets; coordinating with internal teams, subcontractors, OEMs, EPCs, and utilities; representing DAR Engineering in client workshops and technical reviews; and integrating study outcomes with design deliverables across multidisciplinary teams.

• Lead EMTP studies for switching surges, TRV, insulation coordination, cable energization, lightning impacts, and RTDS testing.
• Use PSCAD, EMTP‑RV, ATP, and RSCAD to perform transient simulations and develop validation methodologies.
• Approve final reports ensuring compliance with internal and client quality standards.
• Plan and track workload, schedule, and resource utilization; support monthly progress reporting and budget tracking.
• Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, OEMs, EPCs, and utilities to meet scope objectives and integrate study outcomes.
• Represent DAR Engineering in client workshops, technical reviews, and presentation of results.
• Develop technical proposals, resource estimates, and bid documentation in collaboration with the Tender Department.
• Implement QMS across all design development stages and promote knowledge‑sharing of EMTP skills within the team.
• Provide direction and mentorship to EMTP study engineers, fostering accountability and technical accuracy.

Requirements

Candidates should have approximately 18 years of overall experience, including 13‑15 years dedicated to power system transient studies using EMTP tools, at least 3 years of supervisory experience, deep knowledge of electromagnetic transients and RTDS testing, a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred), and relevant certifications such as PSCAD, EMTP‑RV, and RSCAD.

• 18 years total experience with 13‑15 years in EMTP transient studies and at least 3 years supervising simulation teams.
• Deep expertise in electromagnetic transients, insulation coordination, switching surge analysis, model validation, and RTDS HIL testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred); certifications: PSCAD Certified User, EMTP‑RV Training, RSCAD Training.
