Accounts Payable Specialist

Description

• Process invoices promptly and accurately in JD Edwards.
• Match, verify coding and enter invoices into the system.
• Ensure accurate data entry following established procedures.
• Follow up with managers and departments on overdue invoices and approvals.
• Generate AP reports, run EDI and cheque payments.
• Support month‑end and year‑end AP close activities.
• Resolve vendor and invoice inquiries.
• Communicate with vendors to correct problems and discrepancies.
• File processed invoices and related documentation.
• Provide additional administrative support as needed.
• Maintain high attention to detail and data accuracy.

Requirements

The position is based in Mississauga, Ontario, with a hybrid schedule requiring four days per week in the office. It is a full‑time role within the Finance department of Mattamy Homes Canada, reporting to the Manager of Accounts Payable.

The company seeks a detail‑oriented, customer‑focused Accounts Payable Specialist who thrives in a fast‑paced corporate shared services environment and is passionate about delivering high‑quality financial support.

• Possess 2–3 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in shared services.
• Experience using JD Edwards ERP.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication for problem resolution.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Word and Excel, and accounting software.
• Exhibit strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and stay organized.
• Bonus: Familiarity with automated accounts payable tools.

Benefits

The expected base salary ranges from $50,000 to $73,500, with eligibility for an annual bonus program tied to business and individual goals. Candidates are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet 100% of the requirements, as the organization supports learning and growth.
