The 2nd Shift Operating Engineer will be based on‑site in Fairburn, GA, and is responsible for the electrical and mechanical systems of assigned buildings. This role supports the Lead Engineer, Chief Engineer, and Site Manager in maintaining optimal building performance.
Key duties include maintaining and updating CMMS data, performing preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire‑life‑safety systems, and responding promptly to service requests and emergencies. The Engineer also assists with equipment installations, reviews contractor work, manages parts inventory, ensures compliance with regulations and JLL’s Engineering Services Compliance Program, and interacts positively with internal and external customers.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, Universal CFC certification, and at least four years of experience in electrical and HVAC trades, including rooftop units and backup systems. Required abilities include lifting 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb), using ladders up to 26 ft, strong electrical/mechanical aptitude, fluency in English, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
